Main rule using any computer (
Acer Keyboard etc):
Do NOT have any food or drink anywhere near the computer. This automatically VOIDS most warranties.
Chances are the tea which is flavoured water has damaged the connections (Corrosion) or possible shorted the circuit board that controls the touch-pad.
If you are lucky, the touch-pad may have to be disconnected and reconnected to clean the contacts. If you are not lucky the touch-pad may have to be replaced and later on more components may fail.
If you did not power off the
Acer Keyboard when the Tea was spilled onto the keyboard, you likely cause damage to the circuit board and the components.
If water including flavoured water is spilled onto any part of a computer and the computer is powered off immediately, often it can be allowed to dry without too much problem with the exception the chance of contacts corroding.
Exception is juices and sodas of any type as these are quite corrosive and can cause damage to the
Acer Keyboard and the contacts even with the power off.
